The WildTangent executive team is made up of game industry veterans and pioneers with more than a century of collective experience, including stints at Microsoft, Sony Online, Hasbro, Nintendo, Adobe, and News Corp. We are a privately held corporation and to date have raised more than $50 million in venture-backed financing.
Our Executive Team
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mike Peronto joined WildTangent in January 2002 and serves as the company’s president and CEO. Peronto has more than 20 years of experience managing technology companies. Prior to WildTangent, he was vice president of publishing products at Adobe Systems and the chief operating officer at WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., an Internet security firm. Peronto also held the CEO position at Endura Software Corp., a provider of supply chain management software, and at Viathan Corp., a provider of data storage software. He started his career as a marketing representative for IBM. Peronto holds an MBA degree in marketing from the University of Washington and a BA degree from UCLA.
Chief Financial Officer
Tom Grina joined WildTangent in April 2009 and oversees all of the company’s finance and accounting activities. Grina has more than 25 years of experience in operations, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and raising growth capital for telecommunications, software, and high-tech companies. Prior to joining WildTangent, he was CFO at Digital Railroad, Inc., which created a web-based e-commerce distribution and licensing platform that brought together professional photographers with buyers of digital content. Grina also held the CFO position at Digeo, Inc., Advanced TelCom Group, and several other telecommunications companies. He began his career as a CPA with Peat Marwick in Denver, Colorado. Grina holds a BS degree in accounting from the University of Denver.
Executive Vice President, Product Development
Matt Shea leads the company’s overall product development and heads the mobile games development division, WildTangent Studios. He led development for the award-winning WildTangent Games Android App and launched multiple iOS and Android titles including Poker Play! and Swipe 3. In 2013, Matt was named to the Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list for his outstanding achievements. Matt has numerous patents in the area of games, digital currency and advertising. He began his career at Sony Interactive Studios while earning a BS degree in computer science from the University of California at San Diego.
Senior Vice President, Games Service
Sean Vanderdasson joined WildTangent in June 2004 and is responsible for the mobile and online service business. He has more than 18 years of experience in the online retail and entertainment industries. Prior to joining WildTangent, Vanderdasson founded the eCommerce business and served as vice president at Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. In April 2000, he was inducted into the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. for his accomplishments at Wizards of the Coast. Vanderdasson holds an MBA degree with honors from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a BS degree in finance law from Portland State University.
Senior Vice President, Operations
Danny Cecil joined WildTangent in September 2001 and currently manages the company’s Internet operations group, as well as corporate IT, quality assurance, and business intelligence. Cecil has over 28 years of experience in the computer industry, including 14 years in product development and information technology at Hewlett-Packard. During his time in product development at HP, he led a team that built the first Windows networking compatible file server for Unix. Cecil later joined HP’s IT group, where he helped develop the company’s global NT domain architecture. Between his time at HP and his work at WildTangent, he managed IT and data center operations for two Seattle-area startup companies. Cecil holds a BS degree in computer science from Colorado State University.
Senior Vice President, Media Sales and Marketing
Ken Simon has been in the gaming industry for 8 years and is currently the SVP Media Sales and Marketing for WildTangent. Ken and team work with leading brand marketers to bring creative ideas to life across WildTangent’s game service and partner games, on both PC and mobile devices. With WildTangent’s proprietary ad solution, Brandboost, the team has seen a dramatic lift in brand adoption as brands have bought into the important value exchange model executed in an invitational, unobtrusive environment.
Prior to WildTangent, Ken served as the Sales Director for the Entertainment and Devices division at Microsoft Corporation, where he was responsible for advertising partnerships across Xbox Live and MSN Games. Before Xbox, Ken spent two years managing the Massive team at Microsoft, which specialized in dynamic in-game advertising across highly trafficked games such as EA’s Madden, Activision’s Guitar Hero III, and Ubisoft’s Shawn White Snowboarding. Ken and team evangelized the Connected Entertainment vision to all major advertising categories as turnkey gaming solutions began taking shape. Prior to Microsoft, Ken spent 7 years as the Executive Director of Business Development at Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc. where he built the OEM and Promotions business units.
