Top Game Developers Ludia and 50 Cubes First to Innovate
“With mobile, the distance between a game player and the game itself leaves less real estate for brand messaging,” said Senior Vice President of WildTangent Media Mark Donohue. “BrandBoost within the game delivers three things: special benefits for game players, a receptive audience for advertisers and more revenues than simple banner ads can provide for game developers.”
“Game developers don’t want to ruin their games with annoying advertising, and the top brand advertisers we meet with on a daily basis don’t want to be interruptive,” continued Donohue. “They want to connect with people. By offering a value exchange, everyone involved benefits.”
“WildTangent has brought to us some of the best brand integrations on Mall World and Fashion Designer in the last two years, including the 2011 Sammy winner Levi’s campaign,” said Jack Wu, CEO of 50 Cubes. “They have helped us in staying true to our mission of entertaining women through games.”
To see BrandBoost in mobile for the first time, download and play any game on WildTangent’s Games Android Service. Just launched is Ludia’s Family Feud & Friends on iOS, and in the coming months, look for 50 Cubes’ Style Touch Preview (iOS iPad) & Fashion Tale (iOS iPad).
WildTangent, one of the world’s largest games distributors, is now developing mobile games out of its new Seattle office in the heart of Pioneer Square. The first mobile game—an update from the popular Polar Bowler PC game will be available this fall. Former PopCap Studio Art Director Rick Schmitz joined WildTangent to oversee art direction for this game and others which will be available on multiple mobile platforms.
Millions of people have played the original Polar Bowler franchise of games over the past decade. The mobile game will have all new game mechanics and the polar bear will be accompanied by his trusty penguin butler. More information about the game will be revealed to Polar Bowler fans later this summer.
“The time is right for us to create a mobile studio,” said Executive Vice President of Product Development Matt Shea. “We have a number of games already in the queue and will be aggressively hiring to add to our existing talent pool already on board.”
WildTangent has offices in Redmond, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, London, Singapore and now the studio in Seattle. See the newest Seattle employee video here: http://www.youtube.com/wildtangentgames.

The service also offers social games and free online games. Players can purchase in-game items at discounted rates with WildCoins or receive them as gifts from advertisers.
