We’re less than a week away from releasing FATE: The Cursed King, the newest–and possibly coolest–game in the FATE saga. For those unfamiliar with the series, FATE is an epic RPG with traditional dungeon-crawling mechanics. Slay monsters, acquire loot, and complete quests for grateful townsfolk.
The fourth game in the series is packed with new content: THREE new dungeons (plus a special bonus),a new town, a new player race, and plenty of new weapons, armor, and spells. The list goes on, including lots of little improvements suggested by fans. In fact, one of two new pets in The Cursed King was inspired by a contest we ran earlier this year.
A few features, in particular, should stand out to RPG fans:
- New party system: Recruit allies to help you fight. They’re computer-controlled, but they can pack a wallop and/or heal you. Of course, they’ll be expecting payment.
- New Facebook features: Special achievements, rankings, and the chance to form parties with copies (NPCs) of your friends’ heroes.
- Moddable: Like previous FATE games, The Cursed King is modifiable. Players can create game graphics and alter stats for a cool personalized experience.
- Visit the Caravan: For this, you’ll just have to wait and see. Or visit our Play FATE Facebook page to do a little digging.
Phew. I think I wore out the N, E, and W keys, but you get the idea. A lot of time and love went into making this game, and it shows!
FATE: The Cursed King launches on WildTangent Games on MARCH 30th. Get it before your friends do (so you can outrank them on Facebook).
