Developer’s Corner – Island Tribe 3

Island Tribe 3 is a casual, Time Management game from Realore, creators of game series like Farm Mania and Jane’s Hotel. Yury Savitskiy, the Island Tribe Team Leader, is featured in this week’s Developer’s Corner and gives you the scoop on the third game in the Island Tribe series.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into game development.

I joined the industry by pure accident and little experience. I was always interested in how games are developed. After being invited to apply for a game designer position by a friend in the company, I passed all three entry tests and started working at Realore Studios. It has been two years since I started creating games with the most talented and dedicated group people I’ve ever met!

What was your favorite part about creating Island Tribe 3?

The best part about creating Island Tribe 3 is coming up with new ideas and then creating a storyline that fits with new ideas. For example, the rolling crocodiles and rabbits swimming on logs were ideas that were created long after we started the game but we had to make them fit into the game.

What tips and tricks do you have for WildTangent players who are playing Island Tribe 3?

Use upgrades as soon as possible and rebuild totems to make the fog disappear, so you can see the level-map and plan your actions. If you want to get the expert rating, try to memorize the level layout when you play it for the first time and then replay it.

Island Tribe 3 brings settlers back to their home island because this was their wish from the previous game.  If you could have any wish granted, what would you wish for?

I would ask to take a glimpse at our planet’s future. It would be cool to see what everything will look like in 20-30 years. Who knows, maybe in 20 years there will be a company with a bitten banana logo that will sell musical instruments that you will be able to make phone calls from.
