WildTangent Studios Wednesday – The Mysterious Mary Celeste

Hello ‘Tangenters!

Today’s History

Today is December 4th and in 1872 (141 years ago) the Mary Celeste, a 282-ton sailing ship, was discovered floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. On board, none of her cargo was missing and her crew’s belongings remained undisturbed. It was all completely normal… except that every single person was gone. Vanished.

The Mary Celeste was a ghost ship.

Who (or what) is on board?

To be fair, some say it was December 4th and other references state it was December 5th.  Either way, it’s a fascinating, unsolved and TRUE mystery.

Read up on it (or watch a documentary about it) and mention it at your next party; you’re bound to get a captive audience.

We hope you enjoyed today’s foray into the past – a little truth, a little trivia and a little history. Thanks to WildTangent Studios for sponsoring today’s post!

What do YOU think happened to the crew of the Mary Celeste? Let me know in the comments below!
