WildTangent Studios Wednesday – PB’s Top 6 Personal Heroes

Hello ‘Tangenters,

Yesterday, I learned a little something about our favorite Polar Bowler.

PB is a little bit of a fan.

Here are his top 6 personal heroes.

6. Nikola Tesla

A brilliant inventor from the late 1800s to early 1900s, Nikola Tesla made the widespread use of electricity possible with the creation of the AC system. Hm… that means that without him, we couldn’t play our beloved games. He really is a hero!

Keep your eyes peeled and you might just see an homage to this great thinker in PB’s soon-to-be-released game.

5. Marie Curie

The first woman to win a Nobel Prize (in fact, she won TWO in her life) won PB’s heart through her genius and her research. Besides, she would probably really appreciate some of his more technologically advanced experiments…

4. Hero of Alexandria

His name was actually Hero (or sometimes known as Heron) AND he was an inventor. PB just couldn’t resist putting him on this list! Fire engines, steam engines, and vending machines were all built by this guy two thousand years ago.

Talk about a big thinker who is, literally, a Hero!

Plasma Ball

It’s SCIENCE! (PB’s a fan.)

3. Elon Musk

A serial entrepreneur and technology leader, Elon Musk creates forward thinking companies that make rockets, electric cars, and well-known virtual payment systems.

Sending the first commercial rocket to the International Space Station makes PB quite the fan of this super smart businessperson.

2. Howard Hughes

What a character! Howard Hughes was rich, made popular movies, flew airplanes and, eventually, became a very famous recluse.

With his creativity, inventiveness, bravery, charisma and personality, it’s no wonder PB likes this guy.

1. Richard Branson

Adventurer. Entrepreneur. Visionary. Self-made billionaire. Knight. PB wants nothing more than to go extreme ‘tubing with Sir Richard Branson… maybe even in space with his spaceship.

Who are your heroes?

Met another Polar bowler player when I went to PT today. Evidently she and her family play against each other in the game. I wasn’t aware that was possible!

Will now have to fire it up again to see how. 😉

That’s awesome! Let me know how it goes!

OK, I was finally allowed time with my iPad and found there is a small icon at the bottom of the game screen that allows you to play a 2-player “hot-seat” game. The first player is the iPad owner and the second is “Player 2”.

On a side note, I found the lack of lane markings up near the bowler made it harder to control where the “ball” went. Also at odd time PB would swerve off into the gutter for no apparent reason and sometimes PB would “release” prematurely when I had him at maximum extension.

All in all, an engaging game. I can now see how it would be more fun with two players. :)

I’m glad that you figured it out! How many games did you play?

Only one. :( Right now I’m fighting a nasty bronchial infection my wife presented me with after I helped her overcome a bout of the same thing. Talk about gratitude!

Next time I play I’m going to challenge her to a duel. 😛

Bummer! I hope you’re both feeling better (and dueling) very soon! :)
